A similar looking specimen was offered in the Heritage aution of Rick Currier's collection in February 2022. It noted: "The columnar Basalts of Fingal's Cave on the Island of Staffa in the Outer Hebrides, bear a striking resemblance to the weird two-toned forms of this Ethiopian Amazonite group perched like the battlements of a castle on a hillock of Albite that looks a lot like snow. All of the Amazonite terminations show blue-green color with glassy luster yet the sides of the crystals are cream colored and devoid of luster. We can easily assert without contradiction that this is a very weird specimen of Amazonite." ----- Photos ©2006 Richard Geiger Specimen acquired from Joseph Freilich
